This four-week initiative, conducted February through March, aimed to verifiy the addresses sexual predators/offenders and serve arrest warrants for related sex crimes. Through this effective fall operation, the Florida sheriffs were successful in taking more than 6,600 pounds (3.3 tons) of prescription drugs during that time span. This four-week initiative, conducted October 16 through November 12, 2016, encouraged citizens to properly and safely dispose of unwanted medications from their households that could otherwise be potentially dangerous if acquired by children or adults, while also providing an environmentally safe alternative to medication disposal. The operation resulted in a significant reduction in crashes (from 210 to 103) and a total of 71 arrests. This four-week initiative, conducted April 9 through May 6, 2017, dedicated resources for enforcement efforts to two "hot spot" areas identified as high traffic crash locations to attempt to reduce crashes and deter other types of crime. Through this effective summer operation, the Florida sheriffs successfully identified suspects, reduced the number of residential burglaries occurring in the focus areas and made 630 arrests.
This initiative, conducted June 12 through August 5, 2017, served as a public awareness effort to deter the rise of burglaries in Florida and directed resources to areas affected by residential burglaries with forced entry, using a highly coordinated Intelligence Led Policing (ILP). This initiative, conducted October 2017 through April 2018, focused on the investigation and subsequent arrest of those manufacturing, delivering or trafficking controlled substances. During this operation, deputies pulled 4,988 drug traffickers off the streets, confiscated nearly 12.5 million grams of controlled substances, and seized 1,679 firearms in arrests made for unlawful possession.
